बरेली जेल ले जाए जाते समय अशरफ ने यूपी पुलिस के किसी बड़े अधिकारी पर गंभीर आरोप लगाए. उसने कहा, 'आज मुझे इलाहाबाद में धमकी दी गई है कि 2 हफ्ते के अंदर तुम्हें जेल से किसी बहाने निकालेंगे और निपटा देंगे. ये धमकी एक बड़े अफसर ने दी है लेकिन मैं उनका नाम नहीं ले सकता.' उमेश पाल की हत्या के आरोप के सवाल पर अशरफ ने कहा कि ये मेरे परिवार के खिलाफ साजिश है। उत्तर प्रदेश की योगी आदित्यनाथ की सरकार को बदनाम करने की साजिश है.
